Julie Chiaverini

Julie Chiaverini is a Lecturer in the School of Education at University of California at Irvine, as well as a supervisor and mentor to beginning teachers. She has held numerous teaching and leadership positions in New York City, Chicago, and Orange County public schools. Julie has been an active member in the development of authentic reading and writing experiences for all students in each of these schools. She spends the majority of her professional time presenting at conferences across the country and supporting local teachers with their implementation of positive behavior management strategies and literacy instruction. Julie holds an Ed.M. in Educational Leadership from Teachers College, Columbia University and an M.A. in Childhood Education from NYU. She is committed to child-centered learning and fostering achievement and growth for both students and teachers.
